Quinta in Alenquer

History and glamour in one place

A visit to this "Quinta" takes you back to the 16th century, when Simão da Cunha – grandson of the famous navigator and ambassador, Tristão da Cunha –acquired the property, having remained in the hands of the same family until today.

The architecture project, designed by D. Manuel da Cunha (17th century), is a real treasure.

In 2003, the house was restored by its current owner, D. Frederico da Cunha Mendonça e Meneses, Marquis of Valada, Count of Caparica, who kept the exterior architecture and the entire noble level untouched.

The extensive renovation works not only converted the bedroom floor into a more comfortable and functional area, but also enabled to adapt the estate into a venue perfect for holding all types of events.

Thirteen generations separate D. Federico da Cunha from the property’s founder.
